The Big Moose…and the Half Marathon!

31 July 2017

Evans Entwistle partner Lisa is tackling her tenth Half Marathon this year as part of a rather exciting team! “Big Moose” are an inspirational bunch who work with companies to realise their potential to fundraise – and the beneficiaries of their work to date have included such worthy causes as MIND, Barnardos, Teenage Cancer Trust, Velindre and Latch. The idea was conceived when founder Jeff Smith lost his best friend, Gary Cloonan, aka Moose, to cancer – this tragic loss inspired Jeff to create bigmoose, a non-profit organisation with a very clear intention – do fun stuff that inspires people to live better, healthier, kinder lives. The BigMoose vision for 2020 is to be a conduit for organisations to raise over £1m for good causes.

Over 100 runners make up the Team Big Moose that are running the 2017 Cardiff Half in aid of MIND, the mental charity which supports individuals with mental health issues the information, support and treatment they need.

Says Lisa: “I’ve run the Cardiff Half many times, but this year I can’t wait to run with such a cool bunch of people for such a worthy cause! Please take a peek at the Big Moose website to find out more about their inspiring story, and if you would like to sponsor me in aid of MIND via JustGiving, please click here. Also, don’t forget to follow #TeamBigMoose’s progress on race day, Sunday 1st October, and cheer us on our way with a mighty “Moose, moose, moose” chant!”
